Edison Middle School

About the project

The Edison Middle School project is a $25.8 million renovation that will bring much-needed upgrades to better serve our students and staff. The project will allow us to provide:

  • Exterior upgrades
  • Accessibility enclosures and upgrades
  • Health, Life Safety upgrades
  • Classroom renovations
  • Cafeteria and gymnasium replacement
  • HVAC system upgrades
  • Higher efficiency systems

What's happening now?

  •  Winter 2019 - The design phase will begin.
     
  •  Spring  2019 - Design will continue, and a community info night will be held on May 8, 5:30-7 p.m., to show schematic designs and a phasing plan and ask the community for feedback.
     
  • Summer 2019 - Design development phase ongoing.
     
  • Fall 2019 - Community information night held on Sept. 18 to review the design update and an updated phasing plan. Community feedback welcomed. Deisgn continues through fall.
     
  • Winter 2019-20 - Construction documents will be prepared with bidding in two phases in January and March.
     
  • Spring 2020 - Construction began in late May.
     
  • Summer 2020 - Demolition of existing gym and cafeteria.   Begin construction of new gym.  Renovation of third floor classrooms, and some second floor classrooms.  New power feed and switchgear serving the entire school.
